With a 35 - 80mm on a crop frame you have an equivalent field of view of 52.5mm, so I would suggest something with a much wider angle - the 18 - 70mm suggested or the Sigma 10 - 20mm Nikon 14 - 24mm, but that would mean that you have a gap between the 20/24mm and the 35mm
