What kind of photography are you into and how much do you want to spend?
If its low light stuff, a fixed 50mm f/1.8 would be a good choice.
For landscape work you need to go a bit wider - the sigma 10-20mm might fit the bill.
If you want to go longer a 70-300mm would fit the bill too.

For general day to day use, see if you kind find a 18-70 at a reasonable price, they have a good reputation and will give you a bit of extra wide angle coverage.
