You're right, there is some crossover, but there also some good reasons to get involved over there.
If you're already on Facebook, it's very quick to post something on a wall, or reply to a comment, picture etc, right from within the website you're already using.
Along the same lines, it's easy for us to quickly alert our Facebook followers when we've posted a new review, news story, technique etc - and speaking from personal experience this has often been my first alert that new content has been posted and where I've clicked from rather than necessarily always going to the homepage of that particular site.
But perhaps our users are better placed to answer this than I, there's over 9000 of them so we must be doing something right - what does everyone else think?
