Yes if you use Lightroon to move the files no if you move them outside of Lightroom then you must make sure you include the Sidecar files with the selection.
This is not strictly true as sidecar files alway follow the main image if moved, be that with windows explorer or any other image managment/browser program.

I would recomend always using XMP sidecar files as opposed to just LR's cache so if you lose LR's database you do not lose all the hard work you did keywording and captioning.

Also if you do any otherXMP aware progam will be able to read captions, keywords and IPTC data that was added in LRand if like me you sometimes prefere to us Capture One for raw processing then all this extra metadata added in LR or any other dam program will stay with the image through the raw processing and automaticly embeded in the finished jpeg or tiff, at least it does with Capture One 4.
