I used to be really nervous about taking photographs of people but now just put the camera up to my eye and take it. I think if you put on an air of confidence and look like you know what you are doing that people will let it go. I also never make eye contact after the shot with anyone I have photographed. The only problem I ever had was with some guy playing the panpipes in my home town. He had lots of colour around him, a table and massive speakers etc but went ape when he saw me photographing him. Someone said he was probably either illegal or was drawing benefit and didnt want to be photographed.
