I've been super busy this evening and not had a chance to look out my settings but I'll do it over the next day or two. I'm sure there's a way to download the settings to a CF card if I remember rightly.

I'll see if I can do thatr and then email them over to you for a play.

Auto-iso works fine and you can set a maximum iso it goes to and will not go higher if you are worried about noise. I shot a Dressage evening at SNEC the other week and had to shoot at iso 2500 at the end of the evening to get the shutter speed up to 1/200th of a sec at f2.8. The in-camera noise reduction worked fine because I was shooting jpeg and the people who have bought the prints have commented on how clear they are.

When shooting sports you are more worried about catching the action than a bit of noise. As soon as you print it out as well the noise is barely noticeable on a D300. Got a D2X as a back-up body recently and it's not till you run them side by side that you see just how good the D300 is!!!!!. I would swap my D2x for another D300 any day!
