i don't think the problem is any tom **** or Harriet picking up a camera and doing uncle bobs wedding photo's i don't think thats taking money out of professional photographers pockets at all
i think what is more to the point is tom **** or Harriet spending a few quid on camera gear and portraying themselves as pro wedding photographers and charging good money when the reality is they havn't really a clue
this gives true pro wedding photographers a bad name and doesn't do them any favours
granted there are some truly fantastic armature photographers amongst us that rival most pro's and my statement above is not intended to offend but sadly i see new photographers selling their warez so to speak quite regular and i think weddings should be left to people who really do know what there doing this is a one time offer for the bride and groom
so to sum up...
i don't think average joe harms the professional i think average joe thinking their professional harms the professional ( does this make sense )
