I did understand what you were saying Flake but do not see why for a weekend competition that is about keeping within a time frame all elements should not be taken within that period. The example you give of a bark texture is fairly easily achievable within the time frame set. If we were to relax this then it really would be opening the floodgates. I could use any number of images produced by other people even that would be then woven into something that might just show my abilities with photoshop - which in my case would not be great admittedly. The rule that all elements are taken in the weekend is understated in that I feel it means taken by the entrant in the course of the weekend and should be part of the challenge. Maybe there should be another thread somewhere that harbours the composites you seek that gives more time to those that want to spend it but for me the wqeekend comp is the weekend comp and should all be acievable within the Friday - Sunday timeframe which gives until noon on the Monday to complete and enter. If people can / do do composites ( and many have over the years of the competition without difficulty in meeting time frame rules) then they can. Don`t see any need to ban composites nor to relax rules.
