Tonight we are forecast -12 last night they forecast -8 and we saw -11 Manchester had -18 so based on that Manchester could be -20 tonight! In addition we are suposed to be getting some more heavy snow from around 03:00

I've been to stock up at Tesco, the roads were clear, but some peoples driving seems to get even worse in the snow I folloowed a white van back with him doing 10 Mph I kept thinking, iof he hits a slippy bit he'll be stuck because there won't be enough inertia to keep him going, I was sure he was so timid he was going to stop and abandon his car.

There's a max min thermometer in the greenhouse, but I can't in because the weight of snow on branches has bent one across the door and I can't open it. Fortunately the log shed has enough for the next two weeks, although I did manage to turn my back into the 'corned beef' look that people used to get in the days before central heating. Luckily it's fading now!

I've lost the TV the internet and the Telephone lines, this would be understandable if they were overhead lines, but they're not, and the whole area has been down intermittantly. We have not lost any power or the gas as some people have, but I'd be sat here with a smug grin on face if we did because a log fire doesn't need electric or gas! I have got plenty of candles ready too.

There seems to be no end in sight to this, it's like living in a deep freeze. Please please check on the old people near you as they need to keep warm, and make sure that they have enough shopping in, and spare a thought for those sleeping rough, because I can't even begin to think how life on the street might be at the moment.
