White Box Equipment
I believe white box goods such as lenses are where an item has been part of a package kit which has been broken up and is now being sold separately - usually brand new and may be excellent value..

I seem to recall reading that light gets in through the viewfinder and affects exposure when you take your eye away ... that's why some (all?) DSLRs have a rubber plug on the camera strap - not that...

I suggest you uninstall then re-install all...
I suggest you uninstall then re-install all software.
You can also run EOS utility from the programs menu and see if it recognises that the camera is attached.
