I have Photoshop Elements 7: When attempting to open CR2 files, elements says it does not recognise them even though 5.4 update says it supports my camera the Canon 500d? Am I missing something...

Hi Folks

Got a Canon 500d and Photoshop elements, updated to CR 5.4 to take advantage of raw edit in elements but it does not recognise cr2 files at all??
Followed the instructions to the letter,...
