I have the MB-D10 battery pack for the D300. It comes with a carrier for the EN-EL3 battery and a carrier for the AA cells. You can use either. There is no need to use the EN-EL4 batteries.

Likewise Nikon scanner.... If you are shooting digital I would get the scanner from the same manufacturer. My Nikon scanner turns out Nikon RAW files I assume the Canon scanner will produce Canon...
