24-70 will pump dirt into you camera body whenever you zoom.
take one and put the open end that mounts to the camera and hold it up to your face near your eye and zoom it and feel the air it moves...

just get 3 more expensive ones.
these 3 are my favorite on my 5dmk2 (along with the 85 1.2l and 300 2.8l is but those would blow the budget.
a great alternative...
