with Tamron lens you stand a better chance of finding a local repair shop. If you have Canon or Nikon you are limited to a couple of big repair shops and their high prices.

To put it simply, meters are a bit stupid, they think they are always looking at 18% grey. About the worst case is pure virgin snow, which requires about 2 stops more light.

If anyone can read the calculation it refers to an AOV for a crop or full frame sensor. THE 50mm LENS CANNOT ALTER ITS PERSPECTIVE WHEN TAKING PORTRAITS. Even though it seems to be a narrower AOV....

Have a look at the PHOTOZONE for a comprehensive write up on lens. Get to know the codes for crop and full frame.For example D11 for crop Tamron. But I do say some of the shots are hard to believe.

Who said it`s a poor lens? Photozine give it 3 1/2 stars for optical. I know the build quality leaves a bit to be desired, but for the price it is a good lens.
