Tutorials in Lightroom?
I'm deciding whether to get Lightroom 4 or PS Elements 11 (sadly funds will not stretch to both, and certainly not to CS6). I was wondering whether the photo editing tutorials in N Photo can be done in Lightroom or whether it has to be Elements/CS6? I'd really like to try some of them out so obviously this is a factor in which I get but I've been playing with a trial version of Lightroom and I'm really taken with it! Pity Adobe don't do their subscription service for these.
Any help much appreciated :) |
I have both lightroom and elements9 and if I have to choose just 1, then it would have to be elements. Lightroom gets bogged down and crawls which elements doesnt seem to do. It is also a lot more versatile. As a non professional I would imagine I would never need cs6. I also find elements much easier and more versatile, but that's probably because I had this before lightroom.
I read somewhere recently that lightroom was very good, but was not an alternative to elements.. Don't know if your interested in trying the trial of elements 11 http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/index.cfm?product=photoshop_elements&loc=us |

GIMP : This is often compared to Photoshop CS#, but is totally free and more powerful then you'll ever need (as is Photoshop) There are plenty of tutorials free on the web or books to buy. Like photoshop you need an add-on to support raw files if this is what you shoot. Its called UFraw. Aftershot Pro : Works on Linux/Win/Mac operating systems, is faster than Lightroom, but does cost around the same amount of money. Not so many free tutorials on the web, but it is the better product of the two, at around similar prices. |
