Capturing smoke
 

Not sure if this is the right section to post this thread. I have a Canon Rebel EOS t4i. I need to document noxious wood smoke that is coming out of a chimney with a blue sky background and also a night sky background. ANY tips you good people could provide would be most appreciated as I just received this camera and am just becoming familiar with its capabilities, but this is a bit urgent. Thanks!

It might be better to try this question in the [B]General Photography Technique[/B] section of the forum , you may have better luck getting a reply or two .
