EOS 1100D - setting resolution?
Hi all-
I've recently purchased this camera and I'm an absolute novice. I'm trying to figure out how to change the resolution to "fine" so the resolution is larger. I have the camera set to "Large" but I don't see where to set it to fine. When I transfer the photos to my computer, it's showing the image size is 72 but I need it to be around 230 or so. Does anybody know how to correct this? |
hi and welcome the large setting you have gives you the largest jpg image size, not sure what you mean by fine but assume you mean best quality which large is. what is showing image size is it dpp or another program

I run a canon 500D which is pretty much the same in terms of settings. The Fine you are seeking is a compression form on the jpeg, normally seen on compacts. (for in camera sharpening and the like)
Your 1100D has small medium and large jpeg files. Here the large will shoot at max resolution and medium and small at lower resolution. The fact that you own a DSLR means the lens on the front will change and have different properties in terms of colour and sharpness. usinga higher quality lens is where you would notice sharpness etc over the kit lens. try using a program such as photoshop elements when printing. this application is very easy to set print quality settings, and a free trial can be obtained from adobe. |
