Can't hold camera!!
 

Well I'm back home after 4 weeks away with work. I was looking forward to picking up the camera and keeping myself busy.
But unfortunately and old wrist injury has flared up and I can't even pick up my camera, let alone take photos. The only option is my tripod, which isn't always practical.
Not happy.

i take it it's your right hand you suffer with ?

for portrait shots try picking up the camera with your left hand by the lens and using your first finger to fire the shutter

I too have problems with my right hand after surgery this time last year to release the tendons now my right hand is very stiff and the grip is weak which doesn't help when your right handed

i lost most of my right hand in an accident at work back in 1982 which basically left me with most of my thumb and not much else
being naturally right handed even after all this time make some jobs still difficult ie using a hammer for instance
swinging a hammer with my left hand just never seems right

from a photography point of view i still do ok and am still able to press the shutter with my right thumb but shutter speeds have to be fairly high or i can grip the camera with my left hand from over the top and fire the shutter that way
there's always ways around things :)

Yes, it's my right hand. Hoping it's only a short term problem.
Cosmica - thanks for the link. I'll give that a go.

I had trouble with the ligaments in my right arm sometime ago and suffered the same problem.
To overcome the problem I used a monopod held by my left hand with a cable release in the other.
If the problem reaccurs I will substitute the cable release with my Yonguo flash triggers which also act as a wireless remote.

Harry, I think it will have to be a monopod (or tripod) until it's better. At least the sun is shining while I'm off work - just a shame I can't do much.

The sun is shining at the moment, but it's a Bank Holiday this weekend and I'm going away for a few days, so that means load of rain:(

That's a fair point. Just seen a forecast and it looks miserable. But that's to be expected.
