IF-ED vs DX-ED lens
Hi,
I'm planning to by my 2nd objectif for my Nikon D7000 body, I'm intrested by two different lenses: Nikkor AF-S 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 G IF-ED VR Nikkor AF-S 55-300mm f/4.5-5.6 G DX-ED VR What is the difference between a EF-ED and a DX-ED lens? I found the technical explanation on the net, but what difference does it give on the photo's? |
The IF and DX parts of the lens name relate to two totally different things , DX are the letters given to a lens designed for use on crop sensor bodys like your D7000 , lenses designed for use on full frame bodys are given the letters FX .The IF part of the lens stands for internal focus which means that the lens does not extend when you turn the focus ring because all the movement is done inside the lens body , a non IF lens will extend when you focus .
