ok so having looked at other people's work on this thread...please be kind. i'm just starting and don't have a true macro lens, just a 70-300 with macro at 180-300...only got a camera 3 weeks ago! :o

i like the composition, for me just need more focusing on your subject. it's just me anyway. :)

You should be proud of this shot if your just starting out. Nice composition and depth of field. But as mentioned, focus could be sharper. That said, it's still a nice shot.

thanks :) if i'd had more time i would have got a better focus i'm sure - was being rushed by kids on school trip. guess i should have been watching the kids rather than taking photos, but this sort of shot is one i've been looking for and didn't want to miss the opportunity.
