Andy
First things first, you really want to get the prop blur at shooting stage. This is done by using a shutter speed of around 1/50 - 1/100, not 1/1250th. however you can induce blur in post, buy not the easiest of jobs. I very quickly opened your image in Photoshop, selected the prop and introduced some radial blur. This could be vastly improved by spending a little time with the selection and amount of blur used. Here's one I took at the airport a few years ago. |
nice 1 harry cheers great pic btw it wasnt the red arrows at cleethorpes it was the blades(former red arrow pilots)
another 1 of my efforts: |
Hi Andy,
Just had a quick look at your Exif data. You shot this at 1/2500 f5.6 on ISO 800. To get some motion in the props you'd need to shoot at about 1/500 or less, so if you dropped the ISO to 200 and stopped down to f8 that would get you close to the mark at around 1/400. Of course, this means you've got to be more careful with your panning and providing a stable platform. The latter will have to be bracing yourself against something solid, like a wall, because tripods are no good for this type of work. |
cheers chris
