Sigma 17-50mm f2.8
Hi folks
Thinking of upgrading my standard zoom lens from my current ebay-bound Canon EF-S 17-85 to the £500ish Sigma 17-50 f2.8. I've read a ton of reviews and they're all superb, and sample images look incredibly sharp (which is what i'm looking for in my upgrade). I'm not sure the additional £300 on top for the Canon 17-55 f2.8 makes any financial sense. Are any of you using this lens? Any thoughts? Cheers, Graeme |
I have the sigma 17-70os and its spot on if that helps

Nice 1 thanks for this :) Cheers |
I do find that you pays your money and you takes your chance. I have always been unlucky with Sigma. A zoom lens that would not auto focus (broken tooth on gear and a macro that gummed up .

Yep that's true but then I guess that's potentially the same of any manufacturer - they can all have a dodgy quality day. Anyway fingers crossed I don't get the Friday afternoon model as its ordered and coming today.... :) Cheers G |
