G'day people of Digital Camera World, my name is Jose, i'm in Melbourne Australia, just joined this site and still finding my way around. Can't believe it's taken me this long !
Anyway, thought i'd get onto this thread as i too use a Nikon.
Don't have alot of gear but believe what i have is ok, thoughts ???
I am using a Nikon D90 with a VR 18-200mm lense. I also have an SB700 Speedlight to go with it.
Seems to be a pretty good combo for most situations and i think i've had some reasonable results so far.
Welcome any advice or thoughts on my pics etc.

I posted a response the other day but the site crashed and it got lost.
I've had a look at your pics and you've got some nice stuff. Keep it up.
You don't necessarily need a lot of gear to produce good images. What you do need is a good eye and lots of practice. You will want to buy more equipment (we all do!), but I suggest you let your progress guide you rather than just collecting kit for the sake of it. If you find yourself developing an interest in close-up stuff, think about a decent macro lens. Alternatively, if it's landscapes then you'll want a wide-angle. Try to avoid the "Upgrading for the sake of upgrading" trap. The D90 is a perfectly serviceable camera. Sure, it's a few years old and there's more bells & whistles on the latest machines, but few of them will give you better pictures.
The 18-200 is a great 'walking about' lens. It gives you a pretty good wide angle and a creditable telephoto with everything in between. Stick with that for the time being, Likewise the SB700 is a perfectly good speedlight. In time you may want to try some studio work and perhaps invest in a studio strobe system, but for the moment the SB700 should be adequate.
I don't think you need to burden yourself with lots of kit you may never use, let your photography be your guide.
