Adobe Elements 10
Does Elements 10 have Bridge or is that only in full Photoshop versions? Moreover, will I be able to open my CR2 raw files in E10 straightaway and cut out Canon DPP?
Thanks. |
Elements doesn't have Bridge. I can't see why you shouldn't be able to open your raw files.

Yes you can edit CR2 RAW files in Elements 10 without using Canon DPP

Thanks.[/QUOTE] Regarding 'Bridge' - PSE10 has Organizer...... I've never used Bridge but I understand that Organizer is at least as good..... but, like any catalog software, only as good as the tags and keywords that you give to your images. Opening Raw files - The word 'straightaway' is perhaps not quite accurate..... yes, you can open your CR2 files but they will first open in Adobe Camera Raw - a cut down version of the one used in full Photoshop. ACR also has to be sufficiently up-to-date to accept the CR2s from your camera - easy to do with the 'update' control in PSE10. However, if your camera is a brand new model you may need to wait until an ACR version that caters for your camera has been released. |
Ok, that's fine , 'Organizer' it is then. To be honest i've only just started using 'Bridge' as it didn't work on my version of CS2. I figured I may have to hit the 'update' button in E10 but my camera model is 2011 and I'm sure I downloaded Camera Raw 6.2 at some point. As long as I can view, convert and edit all in the one program.

The latest version of ACR for PS Elements is 6.7............ always make sure you've got the most up to date version - things can improve even when they look the same.
