Kite

I'm after some C&C on this photo of a red kite.

I took the photo quite a while ago now and I've had some mixed opinions. What do you think?

A really nicely well exposed shot, great sky colours and nice bird detail, I think maybe a slightly different crop with the kite more to the top right of the frame would work better.

Definately a shot to be proud of though.

Lovely shot , the crop certainly doesn't add anything to the image which is a shame because a shot like this deserves to be shown off to its fullest . I don't know if it's just this site or my monitor but it does look like you've lost a little bit of the detail in the darker areas of the bird , a quick tweak of the shadow recovery slider pulled them back beautifully .

I'll try a different crop, that's a great idea.

There's plenty of shadow detail on my monitor if I view it full size. A different crop would mean the bird fills the frame a bit more and might show off a bit more detail.
For me, it's the light that's the best bit.

It depends on why you took the shot. If, like me you sometimes take a shot to show the bird is around, then it's fine, if on the other hand it's to show the bird as the main subject , then it's not close enough, i.e. it should fill the frame. :D
