Really good efforts there, however they are both lacking sharpness I think the first image is suffering from camera shake to avoid this a general rule of thumb is to make sure your shutter speed at least matches your focal length so for example if you are shooting at 300mm you need a shutter speed of at least 1/300th of a second you may want to allow a bit more to allow the cameras crop factor. If your camera body or lens has image stabalisation then that will help you get away with a slower shutter speed though.

The second image sharpness is more down to focus point, generally with people or animals you want to focus on the eyes, you can either get familiar with selecting the correct focus point manually with your camera or use a central focus point, focus on the eye with that point and then recompose your shot does take a bit of practice.
