Rock Concert Photography

Hi,
I have been allowed to take photos at a rock concert this month. No flash allowed, so will be using wide aperture and high(ish) ISO, but wanted to ask about metering modes; I usually shoot in evaluative mode but wondered if partial, or in particular spot metering would be a better bet in this instance.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
Many thanks,
Tom

Hi Tom,
Most rock groups work against a black, or very dark background and you don't want that influencing the meter. I would definitively go for spot metering in a case like this.
Also, go for pretty high ISO. A bit of noise (which you can probably deal with PP) is preferable to subject movement.
Good luck.

There was a story in one of the mags recently, they recommended spot metering as well.
