This has been sitting on my desk for a long time. Decided to take a photo. I do not have a macro lens, this was my kit lens with a close up filter.

You get a good depth of field with that set up but I'm not sure what you mean by a close up filter , is this something that you put in front of the lens to give the effect of a narrow DOF or does it let you focus in closer like extension tubes .

Mark[/QUOTE]Yes :) It is screws on the front with a 10X magnification. I was only about 3 cm away from the CPU when I took the photo. They are also called diopters.
