Bought Photo Plus for the first time today. I was rather shocked when I looking at page 64. Whether the shot is of AMY D I know not, But to me it is soft porn,it cannot be anything else.If you want to tint a photo it could have been anything , still life, portrait etc. Changing the subject, the article on making a splash with flash is an old hat way of doing it. I made an adaptor to fire the flash by the sound of the drop hitting the milk. To delay the flash slightly, thus raising the crowns, it is done by a flash delay in milliseconds. Also by using a macro lens you are limiting the DOF, so you have to stop down a lot, therefore you have to increase the duration of the flash which cancels the speed of the flash. I find it best to use a medium flash (50) giving a good DOF then enlarging the shot followed by a crop.

I would say its artistic, Its great to see something different.
I have even shown my mrs the picture and she liked it as well.
Once again its all personal choice.

At the end of the day it's where your own personal boundaries are.
It's a photo magazine and therefore loads of different types of photos will be in it.

Funnily enough, if it had been in another magazine I might have thought different.

If you think the photograph on page 64 of the current magazine is soft porn... your a prude !

First of all I'd like to say no, the shot is not of me. The reason we chose to use a nude in this case was because, as I mention in the text, selenium toning works particularly well with skin tones, which obviously in nude shots there is a lot on display.

As Graeme has also pointed out, as a photographic publication we try to keep the range of photographs we use quite broad - nude photography is a very popular subject so this will be featured from time to time.
