Night effect
This is pretty much how the shot came out of the camera. It's produced a very surreal image. The beam is my head torch lighting up the rock, and the foreground light is from the street lights from above me on the cliffs.

I think the main image looks great , love the colour and the contrast above and below the horizon line very out of this world .
The head torch gives an interesting effect but I would prefer the shot without it . Mark |

I think there will be a mixed view on the beam - I like it but just like you, some may prefer to remove it. I guess I was so surprised with the outcome I just left it in. |
Paul the only problem I have with it is that it looks like it's been added in photoshop , I know it hasn't and is probably moisture in the atmosphere being picked up in the beam of your torch but it just looks out of place . It might just be down to the colour of the beam , a yellower colour might do the trick .

I cannot judge the scale, how far away is that rock? How many lumens is the head torch? Mine is good (an LED one) but did only come from the dollar store (it was actually $2).

The stack was about 300 yards away I guess. The head torch is a Lenser 220 lumen one. |
That is a bright light! It is just so hard to get a sense of the scale, knowing that it is 300 yards away helps. It is a very cool photo.

I like that its surreal and looks quite different. It makes it look more like a planet than a coastal scene!
