Fantastic looking plant Karen love all the pipe work it seems to have a real electric glow to it , I bet it looks as dull as dish water in daylight .
I like the way you have incorporated the tree in the third shot it's branches mirror the pipe work perfectly .

The only slight critique I have is that there are a couple of over exposed areas due to the flood lights .

Hi Mark , thanks for taking the time to comment. You're right about the floodlights, its so annoying and a pain. I toyed with the idea of making 2 seperate exposures of the same scene. Underexposing the floodlights on one and then blending them so the floodlights would look correct but I was freezing and just wanted to make some shots and get home in the warm! :-) Maybe I could underexpose in raw? I took these a couple of nights ago and wanted to go back today but the weather has just been miserable and very windy. I do think these sort of places look amazing at night but given the right sky and hopefully steam it might look okay in the day too :-)

Here is another one with the tree in :-)

Nice shots I like industrail shots myself but have taken very few as there is not much near here thats OK to shoot.

I think the white blanace on the first should be the same as the others.

That latest shot is beautiful Karen , the contrast between nature and man works so well .
One more question for you , is there a dedicated light source pointing at the tree because it is lit perfectly .

It is amazing how industrial scenes can be so interesting. Well done.

Yeah, it does and I wanted to show that in the shot so thanks for noticing :-)
The tree was just lit by the lights from the factory, it manufactures chip board and is called Kronospan, you might have heard of it.

Thanks Alf :-) Well, I was in the middle of a huge field that runs right alongside it and I think it was public space as it was signposted for the train station. I think if you shoot these places from public land there is no problems. The white balance is the same on the first but I used Photoshop to crossprocess it to look like Fuji provia film, that's why it has a different tint.

Thanks, Don and yeah the industrial landscape for me is my favourite form of landscape photography, don't know why but I prefer this to beautiful mountain scenes or coastal scenes :-)
