Some more from the lakes

I spend a lot of time in the English Lake District usually around the Ambleside area. It's a very photogenic area. The main unpredictable thing is the weather!

This is Windermere at the end of the day

Another day at Windermere, a gloomy one but I liked the contrast of the sky. This was 5 shots blended in Photomatix

On my way to Blea Tarn, the combination of the look down the valley and the sign attracted me

like the tones in one, the reflection of the sky looks like a spotlight on the lake.

I like the processing of the B&W but two little things irk me slightly, I;d clone out the little wispy plant thing to the left of the trunk, it seems to draw my eye away from the main focal point, also the horizon is very slightly tilted.

I like the first and the second but agree with cathus about the horizon and the plant

I have to say your first image gets my vote , beautifully simple yet it retains so much depth and the tones are lovely .

On my way home on the train, after a few days in the Lake District. While waiting on the platform at Oxenholme, I had a play with my camera. This shot may be total rubbish, but I quite like the back to front message. I converted to black and white in Silver efex Pro 2 adjusting contrast and using a Ilford Pan F 50 profile

Number 3 for me. I like the inclusion of the gradient sign with the landscape. Hope this posts as I am on a very shaky train at the moment lol

Stopped at a field close to Skelwith and set up my camera for a star trail. To the naked eye, it was pitch dark.
