How do i reveal.......?
 

Hi folks, 'fraid my memory has failed me (again) LOL

I cannot remember the technique for revealing a part of a layer placed beneath the top layer!!

My lower layer has a face in one corner and i want to reveal it on the top layer. i know i use 'Eraser' but i can't get it to work.......

Anyone point me to the technique or quickly explain please?? :)

Have you chosen black as your foreground colour?

Create a mask for the top layer. Highlight the layer, click on the mask in the layer pallette and then choose the brush tool. Choose black to "remove " and white to repair.

I was using the Eraser tool but couldn't get it right, no wonder really when i was doing it wrong!!

I was going to attempt to 'blend' the smaller picture in as a top layer but the background on some of them are varying colours, ie...part sky, part tree.

Basically what i want to end up with is a photo of a motorcross rider in action with a seperate pic of his face to the top left or right of the final image :)

@silversnapper1...no, i had white selected but whilst it erased i couldn't repair.

Your welcome. It's an easy mistake to choose the erase tool when the best combination of tools to use are utilising a mask. It's easy to repair and instantly "undoerable"!
