How to re-color objects in PS?

Does anyone have an advice how to recolor objects in PS?

Let's say i have a red flower with all shades of red and some black sprinkles on it and i want it blue. How do i paint it, so dark-red becomes the equivalent dark-blue and so on?

If i select the brush, choose blue and paint, i also overpaint the black sprinkles...

I would make a selection around what you want to change the colour of and do a hue adjustment.

You could use the replace color adjustment, the changing of hue will affect everything in the selection whereas the replace colour selects the colour and you can vary the tolerance....fuzziness.

OK Pharod this is what I would do. First make a selection of the item you to recolor, go to layer menu and choose layer via copy, this will give you a new layer with your selection iin. Then go to your forground colour and click on black to bring up the colour pallette so you can choose your colour, then pick your paint bucket tool and poor in to your selection, at this piont it looks bad but dont worry go up to your blending mode in your layers pallette and choose (color) to then alter the intensity, change the opacity until you like what you see.
hope you find this helpful
