Interesting Canon G9 Review
 
I love my G9 and find that I use it way more than my DSLR's which is why I found this review to be quite interesting:

Perhaps you might like a look at [URL="http://www.luminous-landscape.com/reviews/kidding.shtml"]this[/URL] which is also interesting. All cameras can perform well in good light, it's when it's not good that the difference shows. Also remember that depth of field effects on a small sensor are virtually impossible.

What all these reviews / comparisons do show are that the law of diminishing returns are becomming more and more obvious as cameras develop

I use the Canon G10 as my pocket camera[large pocket] and can confirm that it gives excellent results!

Yep, I am familiar with that one as well and I agree re:good light....but it also says something for the optics...no?
