Great atmospheric shot love the detail in the foreground rock , it would be nice if there was some extra interest in the pool at the front .

I need to ask a learny question here...by 10 stop action, I guess you are meaning a 10 stop ND filter (a lee big stopper)? How many seconds exposure did you use on this and what was the natural light like? I cant access the exif data on my own photosn ever mind anyone elses..lol
I like the leading lines on this one, with the rocks and disagree that the foreground needs more. |

Here's the exif data on this shot. Camera Canon EOS 60D Exposure 254 seconds Aperture f/9.0 Focal Length 11 mm ISO Speed 100 Exposure Bias 0 EV The sun had just set so you only have about 20ish mins to get a shot in as the light fails so fast. The cloud cover was 2/8. Thanks for the comments. |
Again another nice one Jimmy nice B+W conv to, Works really well, , ive been a bit slack on the LE front at the mo, Back on the 600 sec ones soon, lol did you use a polariser? that would cut the reflections on the pool and add more detail not that it needs it though,

Beautiful shot Jimmy. I wonder if a polarizer would make a difference to the water in this shot for that exposure. Mmm...interesting. Maybe you could experiment for us :D

Thanks paul.

A polariser cuts glare, and the silky smooth water effect is caused by highlights in the water - therefore you'll often find that they conflict (as I recently found out!)
nice shot Jimmy, very calming. the reflections in the foreground pools seem at odds with the sky though - is this just a natural occurrence, or is it a composite? |

No, this is a one take shot (I did take two shot's, but I, er, left the lens cap on ......). The clouds in the sky were dark as you can see, but above me the sky was clear perhaps causing the difference in the tone? |
