Hi Dan, personally I like all three of them, but if I had to pick one I think it would be the third one. "Why" I hear you ask... I think that it's because of the water, as I like the milky effect....
|
I think of the three I prefer the third one but the top left corner looks a little to dark compared to the rest of the scene , I know it may well be a darker part of the sky but it just takes my eye away from the main picture .
The first and second are close runner ups but the composition isn't as good for me and I know this is a bit picky but there is a slight halo over the cliff tops . Mark |
Thanks Guys, The 3rd one is also the HDR one, you are right about the darkness, the sun was only just out of the frame on the right, and it was difficult to exposre correctly, the halo is from A bit of Dodging on the cliffs that i must have taken to far up, will correct on my Copy,
~I was tempepted by a longe rExposure but at f22 and with my strongest nd filter except my 10 stop it had to do, and i liked the quicher exposure to create the motion though the rocks, |
It's the one showing the waves that cuts the mustard.
With a dramatic sky like that you need to be telling the whole story. Stormy weather and a misty sea don't go hand in hand. Stormy weather and the sea reeling in ready to crash down on the beach does tell the story! 1st and 2nd |
Thanks jools, i definately Prefer the waves too, it was the effect i was after,
Dan |
That's OK. It just works better. You've got the power of mother nature in the sky and if you have milky water down below it doesn't quite fit.
The fact that the sea is pulling itself back is the "moment". |
Yep i now, i wanted rougher seas, but then i wouldnt have had that composition,
Always next time, Dan |
My favourite is the second one, closely followed by the first and third, as like Jools, I think the movement you've captured in the waves just makes for a more evocative image. Nice work Dan!
|
Thanks Ian, the second one Seems to be peoples favourite, And mine Tbh,
Thanks again all, |
