hi as im pretty skint im trying to make my own softbox for my flashgun. does anyone know where i can get translucent material for the front?

Should be as good as anything for light (no pun intended) usage.

@ fatboyslim - good on you taking the diy approach. Maybe you should start another thread in the General Equipment section when you have completed it, showing what you have done and telling how you did it and inviting other people to share their diy photography gadgets.

Good idea. I'll draw up some plans for a macro infinity background I made a few years ago and stick them up.

That sounds interesting Chris, I will look forward to that. I'm away from home at present and can't think of anything that I have made but will have a look around when I get home. Maybe we can ask the mods to sticky the thread when it is up and running too.

I did this with my home made light box. Gives a moonlight like glow.

I think you could make one from an A2 portfolio folder. The plastic ones you get for a fiver. like below.
