D700 - colour profile issue?
 

This could be a silly question?

I have only had my D700 for a couple of days and really just playing around and reading through the manual, I have the following issue, I have set the camera colour profile to Adobe RGB and shooting in RAW( and the camera is showing this). Now then when I download the images and open in CS3 it shows a mismatch saying the embedded profile is sRGB and not Adobe RGB. :confused:

I have looked in the manual and all that it says is set to Adobe RGB or sRGB , nothing in the trouble shooting section either, I have never come across this while using my D200, anyone have any suggestions?:confused:

I have reset the camera to default setting and reset the colour profile back to Adobe RGB still the same, what am I doing wrong? Or could the camera be faulty?:(

Without going into long winded explanations, when shooting RAW images the colour profile is of little importance - only Aperture, Shutter Speed and ISO being recognised by ACR. That said, ACR does see the profile but for the sake of your particular question it really isn't important.

ACR does however, have a working space and what you are seeing is this. If you take a look at the bottom of my screen shot you will see what appears to be a web link in blue and in my case it reads Pro Photo RGB because this is the working space that I have chosen. Remember - it is the working space and not the colour profile attached to your image. If you want to change this to say sRGB or RGB to maintain a constant workflow then simply click on this link. A pop-up menu will then appear allowing you to change any of the settings.
