Confused about Colour settings in CS5 & in general!
Hi!
I have a Canon 500D and shoot in Raw so I can post process using CS5. For printing I don't have a printer and don't see myself in the future owning one anytime soon. I will using Jessops to print some pictures. (I called their photolab and they told me their colour profile is sRGB). Now, I bought Scott Kelby's CS5 book and he tells me that if I'm shooting in Raw my colour working space should be ProPhoto RGB. Then he says that if I don't have a printer and will be sending to a photolab to use sRGB. So do you think that both my camera & CS5 colour settings working space should be set up for sRGB? I don't want to lose an image quality if it's better to use ProPhoto RGB. Thanks Daniel |
hi, i ahve CS5 and i wasnt aware there was a ProphotoRGB, i use the SRgb the internet standard one, and depending on the printers i am using sometimes ahve to change to CYMK,

Do you mean AdobeRGB? AdobeRGB is 16bit colour sRGB is 8bit so people advice you set the camera to AdobeRGB when shooting raw then save it to SRGB Jpeg to send off for prints. You will still have the 16bit raw file which has the biggest garment of colours.
