Well done for enroling. Like stars, I work shifts so would struggle to do the photoshop course that I want and need to do.
Good luck. |

Is it the right thing for you?
Aren't GCSE's for very beginner beginners, if you know what I mean? Haven't you progressed too far already? Only asking because I was once asked, to conduct the oral examination for a student's Dutch GCSE (they need a native speaker for that) and I was totally taken aback how easy it was. Anyone with the slightest feel for languages could have mastered the stuff in a fortnight. Everyone else probably needed a month or so. Do you know what you will be taught? And how? |
I still feel Im a very beginner......

In the past few months you have mastered a lot, so not so very beginner beginner! But you may of course start with film and dark room work, that would give you insight in all sorts of aspects of photography. I haven't got a clue if a 'technical' GCSE, is any more comprehensive than a language one. Anyway: Good luck and keep us posted! |
Go for it.
It's highly likely that a great deal of the course work will not be new to you, but it might tie up a few loose ends and fill in a few gaps. Overall, you'll have a structured approach instead of piecemeal learning. On top of the list; you'll be with like minded people and you're sure to have a lot of fun. |
Didnt now they did GCSE photography, ive applied for an A level and an Stuido Aprrentiship, the studio didnt want me, and 2day is GCSE results day so ill only get the a level if some kids have messed up...... fingers crossed, lol,

Good for you.... Your never too old to learn and everybody has got to start somewhere.. Like you I did a photography course at Tec. two years ago, it was an NVQ Level2 in photography and there was a fair wee bit of course work involved but I really enjoyed every minute of it and came out with 2 credits. The only thing I can say is don't go in expecting too much, like, oh, I thought we would do this or, I thought that we would have covered that. If you go in not expecting too much and not having your sights set too high on what the course actually intails, you should not be disappointed..... If it's anything like the NVQ course you will be set assignments with ample time to complete, but dont leave them to the last minute as if like me, you will change bits of it, like adding bits or taking bits out, if I was to do it all again the only thing that I would change is; I would have did it earlier in life. I kept on putting it off telling myself that I wasn't good enough to do something like that. It was only through joining a camera club, reading LOADS of mags and the GENTLE PUSH (not, more like hard shove lol) of family, friends and fellow forum members that made me go for it.......
I must ssay I've learned alot from it and still continue to learn from my own experience and others comments... |
