Feedback please!!
Hello
Can i please have some feedback on the following shot. I have just started to get into Close up shots. Thanks |
The photo is really too small to judge it properly. Could you repost it with a link to a larger version, or preferably make the image clickable.

How do I make it larger or clickable?

As I have done above, once you add the photo line e.g.
["IMG]http://www.photoradar.com/files/imagecache/original_large/photos/users/howard09/dsc-0062.jpg[/IMG"] (with out the extra "'s in it as I have) Highlight that text and click the world/chain icon and paste the same into that box. |
Hi Howard we will need a bit more info on your kit and set up to be able to give you help with your close up work .
I think your using a 70 -300 lens but what make is it and if it's got VR / OS also I see your out at 300mm iso 1600 and 1/250's but I don't know the f number . With this type of lens you will never get the same pin sharp images that you would if you used a macro lens , any zoom lens will deliver softer images at its extreme reach . Also shooting close up's at 300mm with a shutter speed of 1/250's any tiny movement by you or the subject will show up as a blurred image unless your using a tripod . To start with make sure you have plenty of light to get your iso down and your shutter speed up . Mark |

I have a nikon D3100 and using a tameron 70-300mm lens with AF. What macro lens should I be using instead to clear sharp shots? This was taken on a cloudy day and no more light was available as I was already at 5.6f and won't go any larger than that with this lens. Shaun |

What macro lens should I be using instead to clear sharp shots?
That depends on your budget and what type of macro work you want to do . I use a Sigma 105 f2.8 macro at about £400 it's not to expensive but it doesn't have an AF motor , not a problem for me on my Nikon D90 but it will not auto focus on your 3100 . I know that most of my macro work is done in manual focus mode but I use the lens for so many other things the AF comes in very handy . To get an AF lens for your camera would probably cost closer to £600 . Mark |
