I am very happy with this shot of a fly as i went out with my macro lens to look for spiders and came across this on the thistle and it hung around for quite a while.

I agree great picture but never mind his feet thats the contents of his stomach hes about to spit on his food (or yours) then he will drink it back up "luvaly bubbly" lol

What an absoulutely wonderful picture.

This is the kind of photo i want to be able to take one day (i'm a very very fresh faced beginner :D) could you tell me what kind of equipment and settings you used to take this please.

Fantastic photograph I'm stating the obvious lucky the fly stayed where he did, this takes nothing away from your achievment, and a great achievment it is I hope to be this good one day.

Phil the set up i have used for this is a 90ml tamron macro lens and a giotos tripod and head and a lot of patience.
I am sure you will get there very quickly Swan lover!!!
