Security alert messages

Amy (?), could you please tell me why whenever I revisit the forum (after having logged out) I receive the following security alert and what does it mean? Taken literally the alert is quite worrysome. I've no idea how to post an image so here's the link to the screen grab that I uploaded to my gallery.

Just to be clear - this security alert only appears after I have clicked the logout radio button and then revisit the site at a later time and prior to logging in. If I remain logged in, close down my browser revisiting again some time later this doesn't happen.

Hi Forseti,

This is quite alarming yes, we're looking into what's causing the problem at the moment.

Thank you Amy, I look forward to an update to the question in the not too distant future hopefully.

That's the same message I got the other day but not since.

Have a look here, it can be caused by users using different machines etc.

That's the reason then as I'm using two PC's. Strange it never happened on DCM's site, when I used both a PC and a laptop even from a hotel in another city! :(

I suspect that security is more refined on this site and its harder to impersonate anyones ID.

I also received this alert, but only once!

Forseti 01-10-09 12:43 PM

No, only using the one machine. The link that bsmith provided includes as an example *more than one browsing session* - I wonder exactly what is meant by that? Surely if I tick the *remember me box*, close down my browser to do other work and then restart my browser to check emails and this site an hour or so later then the cookie should do just that - remember me.

The reality is that it doesn't of course, and just prior to posting this message I opened up my browser (IE8), clicked on PR in my favourites bar and although NOT signed in I received the same security advisory.

You'll also note that from the screen grab link that I provided in my initial post that I was still actually signed in to the site so this problem appears to be related to not logging out prior to closing down the browser and then returning at some later time. Strange because I do this on numerous sites as I'm sure others do and never received this security advisory (or anything similar to it) before.

I use two machines and 1 phone to get on the site and I have not had this come up once!!!

Home PC stayed logged in though so leave it alone ;) LMAO
