Books on HDR?
 

I'm thinking that a book on HDR might over come my problem of getting 'washed-out' 'flat' photos when run through the 'merge to HDR' option.

I've been using the Shadow/Highlight to some good effect.

I've been looking at these following books on Play.com but unsure which to buy?
(I'll only be using Photoshop)

I'm not sure you need a book. There are not that many adjustments to learn. Not like photoshop where there a millions. What hdr program are you using? Below is the user manual for photomatix 4 its in pdf format. It explains what each slider does.

Again, I'm only using Photoshop!!!

Sorry i missed the photoshop in brackets. There is your answer hdr in photoshop is rubbish. Download the free trial for photomatix and see if you like it. The trial doesn't run out it just puts a watermark in the saved image.

Cheers. But I'm ONLY using Photoshop. I'm not planning on getting any other program.

I'm asking which book to buy out of them I have mentioned.

Photoshop cs5 hdr is ok any earlier and its useless not fit for purpose, no one uses it for the exact reasons you explain just google it.

Practical HDR has got great reviews on amazon.

Can I ask if you can pay by Maestro (UK) on Amazon??


There's a new book called The HDR Book which I'm thinking about ordering. Its featured on Scott Kelby website if anyone wants some information on it.

Sorry, I'm in agreement with the others. Spending money on a book seems a waste. You're much better off putting that money towards photomatix

Ill agree with the others, although i dont do HDR's so CS5 is fine for me, irregular use, if its something you want to do regualry then buy the plug in,I remember looking at those books, and some dont include info on photoshop, only the other dedicated programmes,
