Monitor Calibration Wizard - Sept Issue

Hello - first post from me on here:) Anyone tried the Monitor Calibration download. Had a go earlier but when I open the program the window has no "maximize" option and at the size it opens it isn't large enough to read the text and see the full display:( Any ideas?

Hello Boxy. I don't subscribe to the the magazine (although used to) and so therefore can't comment either way with regards to the quality of the so called wizard or the instructions for use. However, in more general terms it has to be said that for truly accurate monitor calibration nothing can beat a hardware calibration device such as the EyeOne to mention but one. This in combination with the associated application really does produce an accurate monitor profile which is absolutely necessary for accurate image editing and for that image to appear the same across all colour managed applications. Adobe used to attach a wizard (called Adobe Gamma) to their applications which installed automatically and was available for use if desired. However, it was never considered to be all that accurate, and most certainly never used by any serious image editor, and as a result is no longer included within their applications. I know that this doesn't directly answer your question but maybe it will give you cause to think.

If you really do want to read the text have you tried increasing the zoom factor - bottom right of the screen if using Windows Explorer?

Sorted now thanks, changed the screen resolution and this effectively resized the Window. I do have Spyder3 and will stick to that I think. The Wizard looks similar to the Adobe Gamma set-up.....

you can't beat a hardware device - I too use the Spyder 3
