Got a used Sigma 55-200mm F4-5.6 DC Canon
 

I bought this used today from a guy on Craigslist. He is saving up for an IS lens, so wanted to get rid of this one. It checks out ok, in excellent shape, lens caps and box. Cost me $130 Canadian ( Live rates at 2009.09.25 21:58:08 UTC 1.00 CAD = 0.573968 GBP ). I would prefer something with image stabilisation but I did see some decent reviews of this lens.

Personally I wouldn't spend that much on it but it depends what other lenses you've got and on what camera...

I have the Canon 450D, with kit lens, 18-55MM plus the Canon 50MM f/2.8. New this lens sells for as much as $300, but mostly I saw it for closer to $200. I will replace it later with something with IS, but being unemployed at the moment I can sneak it past my wife for $130 :)
