D300
Hi all
Now that the D300 has officially been discontinued and replaced with the D300s do you think the price will come down or go up? I suppose it depend on what stock retailers have and the demand. Warehouse express current price D300 £1068.00 (Body only). I am planning on upgrading from my D200 to D300 just wondered if I should hold back for a little while and see if the price drop’s in the run up to xmas? Anyone any thought’s? Steve… |

Steve…
That's the $64,000 question. Mifsuds have it for £1047 plus £5.99 for delivery. Great firm to deal with and first class customer services. :D http://www.mifsuds.com/acatalog/Nikon_Digital_Cameras.html |
Thanks OldBoy

Nice one Steve I am in the same position myself so will be watching this with interest!

When they brought out the D70s the original D70 didn't reduce by much and the supply dried up.

I agree Oldboy still have my D70s cost me £900.00, personally I think the D300 will go up due to demand, I for one don’t want HDR video and I think a lot of other photographers will have the same view.
Still not sure when to strike!!! But it will be before December. When Nikon launched the D300 I nearly bought one but decided to wait until the price came down from around £1400.00 if my memory server me right, it did come down to around £900,00 at one point just before the credit crunch kicked in and I missed my opportunity and it went back up to £1200.00. I don’t really want to miss out on getting one now that Nikon have discontinued and replaced it with the D300s and I don’t really want HDR video on my camera do not see the point paying the extra £ that this feature has put on the price and I take still photographs not video, if I wanted video I would buy a video camera. I will let you know once I have taken the plunge. Steve… |
Should have brought it last December when it went down to £860.02. :(
|
Based on previous experience, I think the price will stay pretty much the same, but the D300 will become harder to get hold of as Nikon will have run down the stocks before they unveiled the 300s.

Steve…
That's not bad as mine cost £1,100 but included the 18-70mm lens. Mind you it had just been released. :( |
I got my body only in February 2008 and i think its was around the £1000 mark, My D300 is almost worn out has fired half its shutter life, and have had to glue certain parts back on, its a great camera though but i ceratinly wouldnt want video on it,
I am not sure what i will upgrade to but will have to be nikon because of all my lenses |
