Monitors!!!

So, the PC blew up and also the monitor! What a double whammy!

Researching some monitors... has anyone any reports on Dell UltraSharp... 22, 23 or 24"

or any suggestions for a good, solid monitor at a sensible price?

Cheers!

Jim

Hi Jim,
I use ViewSonic -and am really happy with them - I have a VX2439wm which I bought from here MicroDirect

You can wall mount it too, so saves on deskspace. And, being Full HD you can play your favourite iPlayer programs in HD :)

I notice from thMD's website they are currently out of stock, but they are usually pretty quick at re-stocking.

Thanks a lot Phil. Suggestions/Examples I was really hoping for : ) Much appreciated!

I might add.. I'm (potentially) looking for something that rotates to portrait format too... : )

Dell Professional P2211H vs Dell U2311H...any thoughts Bump?

KeithT 27-05-11 08:38 AM

A friend of mine has the Dell Ultrasharp and gets good editing results from it. I have a HP w2207 which is excellent for image editing. My only advice would be to stretch your budget and buy the best and the biggests. How I wish I had purchased the next size up to my 22 inch wide screen! It looks so small now days.

Jim, I'm not familiar with the P2211H and can't find any professional reviews of it, just some feedback from pleased owners on Amazon. According to PCBuyIt it has a TN panel whereas the U2311H has an e-IPS panel, which is generally better regarded for photo-editing but not so fast for games, etc.

littlebro and Ashleyj both purchased Dell U2311H monitors a couple of months ago. Why don't you pm them to see what they think of them? - or they might be reading this thread and respond here.

At home I use an Eizo EV2333W which gives excellent image quality but is not suited to games, etc. It's around £350 which is not cheap, but a lot less expensive than the pro Eizo's I use at work.

I agree with KeithT's comments re size.

Thanks to you both!... I'd looked at the HP w2207 too and it looks fantastic. Eizo are amazing aren't they Bump... most digital processors I know have those in store.

Keith... I've seen a couple of HP w2408 on Ebay... similar to your HP monitor?...
