Negative scanners
 

Hi my techy friends, i've been shoot with the old 35mm for years and was wondering if any of you know of a scanner that scans negative film and does a decent job of it, many thanks John xx

I've got a Canon CanoScan 4400F and it does the job very well.

Have a look at the Epson range of flatbed scanners which will scan any film. See [url]http://www.epson.co.uk/Scanners/Epson-Perfection-4490-Photo[/url] for details. :)

Likewise Nikon scanner.... If you are shooting digital I would get the scanner from the same manufacturer. My Nikon scanner turns out Nikon RAW files I assume the Canon scanner will produce Canon RAW files.

They tend to be expensive but you can often pick up some good ones second hand. People buy them, convert their slides/negs and sell them. Also "last years model"

BTW look for one with a slide bulk scanner and film strip holder.

seems there is a wide choice , ideally i want a good one that really does scan well enough for photo quailty, had a epsom flatbed a few years back and was disappionted with the results, i've recently bought a cannon 450d, so may look at what cannon has to offer, many thanks for your opinions any advice is welcome. John.xx

This topic crops up so many times, getting the same answers each time. Perhaps it should be a permanent thread on this forum. I always use Epson, be it 4870 or a combi, cannot fault them, plus the cartridges are easy to refill.
